APVU (ASIA PACIFIC VEGETARIAN UNION)
APVU is a regional organisation consisting of South East Asian countries, China including Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Middle Eastern countries, Australia and New Zealand. It was formed in 1998 but held its 1st congress in Goa, India in 2001.
APVU has strong alliance with the International Vegetarian Union (IVU).APVU is held every two years to promote a holistic approach to vegetarian lifestyle. Nepal Vegetarian Association has been given the honor to organize the congress this year.
NVA (NEPAL VEGETARIAN ASSOCIATION)
Nepal Vegetarian Association was formed 10 years ago to create awareness and encourage Nepali people to opt for a Healthy Vegetarian Lifestyle free from cruelty to all animal beings.NVA is very active in promoting vegetarianism through talks, camps, hiking and public posters and cooking demo.
